GrievingTeens™ Grief Camp

You Can Grow Through Grief

Purpose:  To assist youth in the grief process wherever they may be. To help them understand the journey and be equipped to cope and grow through grief.  To equip them to discuss what has happened with family and friends. To help them realize the spiritual resources available to them on their journey.

Time: 2 nights and 3 days to get away and regroup. Tuesday through Thursday to make use of off peak times.

Cost: $170. -$300. Depending on camp and the camps costs.  With scholarships available based on need and availability.

Who: Students 13-20 or 8th grade to college. Camps are limited in number the limit is 40 people. These students are either Christians, or willing to hear about grief from a Christian perspective.  Students ideally be those who have had a significant loss (either a death, divorce, missing parent, imprisoned parent, loss of a home or job in the family).

Rules: People’s luggage will be subject for search.  No drugs, iPods, cell phones, computer games will be allowed at the camp.  This will also include energy drinks or other stimulants. We want the focus to be that of addressing issues of grief.

Photos: Each Camper is asked to bring a picture of the person or persons that have been lost or something to represent the loss. Example: if a father has died please bring a picture of your father.  Do not bring the only copy you have of a loved one.  In that case make a photocopy or have a copy made.
